Free Summer Concert Series

BRANDON'S FREE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES 2010

The Brandon Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present its annual free concert series. All concerts to begin at 6:30 pm. Bring a chair or a blanket. There will be a rain location as needed. For more information, contact the Chamber at 247-6401. Concerts are sponsored by area businesses.

Ivory kicks off our 2010 Free Summer Concert Series playing Classic Rock 'N Roll Music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Local musicians Michael Boise and Bruce Costello combine their talent and experience for a memorable evening playing all your favorites. These guys present a great variety of dancing music you won't want to miss.

 

 


Extra Stout

Extra Stout is a traditional Irish band that has been in existence, in one form or another, for close to fifteen years. Members of the band have expertise in musicianship and in Irish culture. Extra Stout plays the full gamut of Irish music: dance tunes; slow airs; marches; composed music; ballads; drinking songs; rebel songs; sean nos; chanteys, Irish punk, etc., etc. Extra Stout is a one-band Irish festival.

Skellig performs music from Ireland, Scotland, Scandinavia and beyond. Members Rachel Clark and Bob DeMarco of the band Wind that Shakes the Barley join John Drury, a veteran of the Quebecois and New England folk scene, blending their talents as a trio delivering traditional music with rich and tantalizing flavor.

Gene Childers and the Jubilee Jazz Band, this time with special guest star Nathan Childers. These musicians keep the tradition of early jazz alive. The musicians are from Vermont and New York and are among some of the finest in the Northeast. With years of experience playing far and wide, expect swinging ensemble playing, hot solos, and a fun, toe-tapping, good time for the whole family.
